Full Moon Jams

Wildfire Weaver — WildfireWeaver @ 1:29 pm

What is a Full Moon Jam?

The Full Moon Fire and Drum jam happens every Full Moon during the warm months in Chicago. Started in 2004 by a group of friends celebrating a birthday, the jams have grown in size to accommodate the increasing amount of drummers, fire spinners and families that come to enjoy the spectacle. Full Moon Jams are a community event: Fire Spinners from Chicago and beyond gather together with local drummers and other musicians to share with you their combined passions. The result: an evening of beautiful flames, dances, music and laughter.

The Jam is open to everyone and anyone. It is a free event and will continue to be. This event is NOT organized by the City of Chicago, it is put together by a community of fire loving friends.

The jams are a Leave-No-Trace (pack it in, pack it out – please clean up after yourselves and if you see and litter, please help and clean it up) alcohol- free and family-friendly event. Photography is welcome, but flash photography can be disruptive to the event and to the flow of the performers. Please turn off the flash feature of any camera you bring! Tag us with (chifire) and (full moon jam) on any photos you post online, or email chicagofiretribe@gmail.com so we can share talents.

About 1/4 Mile SOUTH of Foster Avenue Beach on the lake front, in the park east of Lake Shore Drive, between Foster Ave. and Lawrence Ave. NOTE: The Jams are not held at Foster Ave. Beach.

The jams are free to the community, family-friendly, Leave No Trace events. For full details of the jams, go here. […]
